Meet Our Pastors!

Reverend Richard Thomas was the Associate Pastor at Calvary Gospel Church in Madison for twenty years.  He was in charge of outreach, visitor follow-up and the First Impressions Team.  His wife taught Sunday school for 18 years.  They both have a burden to reach the lost with the Gospel.  Pastor Thomas is an excellent Bible study teacher and preacher.  He has had many years of experience giving Godly counsel to people.

Pastor Thomas has been the North American Missions Secretary for the United Pentecostal Wisconsin District for over twenty years.

In 2017, at the age of 75, God called Pastor Thomas to the City of Stoughton to start a daughter work extension of Calvary Gospel Church. He and his wife are excited to be ministering in the Stoughton area.

Reverend Blake George has been involved in many facets of ministry prior to becoming the Associate Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Stoughton in 2017.  Blake has given over ten years of dedicated service as a minister of prayer.  He has also led outreach ministries such as Sunday School bus routes and street meetings.  He assists Pastor Thomas with preaching, teaching and mentoring.

Blake and his wife, Sarah, have taught Sunday school classes for all ages.  Sarah has always had a burden for children and is currently our lead Sunday school teacher. They are both excellent Bible study teachers and soul winners. They have taught on subjects such as prayer, worship, spiritual authority, tithing, gifts of the spirit and the path of salvation.

Blake and Sarah enjoy spending time in Door County with their three children and their Goldendoodle, Jinx.

THE BIBLE:  We believe the Bible to be inspired of God. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (II Tim 3:16)

ONE GOD:  We believe in the One Eternal God, infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity.  “The first of all the commandments is, hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.” (Deut. 6:4).  “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Eph. 4:6).  Paul says, “And without controversy, great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Tim 3:16)

REPENTENCE:  “Repentance” means change of purpose, change of heart, change of mind, change of life. John the Baptist       preached repentance, and Jesus proclaimed it in Luke 13:3 “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

WATER BAPTISM:  In obedience to scripture, after one has fully repented and turned away from their sins, they should be

baptized by immersion in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5 – thus obeying and

     fulfilling Matthew 28:19.

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:  Acts 2:4 “…they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other

tongues (languages) as the Spirit gave them utterance.”  Scripturally speaking, all who receive God’s Holy Spirit will have

the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as recorded in Acts 2:4, 10:46, and 19:6. Further, “…the promise is unto you,

and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:39)

FUNDAMENTAL DOCTRINE:  The basic doctrine of this organization shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.
